KLUANG, March 1 — A man whose car was swept away by water was found dead inside his vehicle along Jalan GSA Chamek in Paloh near here this morning, becoming Johor’s first flood-related death.

Kluang police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident happened at 7.20am when the victim was driving to his workplace in his Toyota Avanza multi-purpose vehicle.

He said the victim, identified as K. Sarathkumar, who was in his 20s, was alone at the time of incident and en route to a nearby oil palm factory.

“Efforts were made to locate the victim shortly after a report was received from the Chamek police station,” said Bahrin in a statement today.
