Former Speed co-stars Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock have expressed a desire to work together on another movie in the future.

The two actors first shared the screen when they starred in Jan de Bont's 1994 action classic Speed, but they later switched gears to become time-crossed lovers in the 2006 romance drama The Lake House. Reeves and Bullock have, however, pledged to work together on at least one more movie while they're both still acting.

"It does feel like there is a siren call to it, like there's something that wasn't done.

"Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera," Bullock proposed on the 50 MPH podcast before joking about the scenario they might find themselves in. "Are we, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Maybe. Are we on little scooters at Disneyland?"

"It does feel like there is a siren call to it, like there's something that wasn't done," Reeves added. "I would love to work with you again before our eyes close."

While Reeves turned down the opportunity to star opposite Bullock in the 1997 Speed sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control, he hinted that he would be up for returning to the franchise in the future. "I mean, you know – we'd freakin' knock it out of the park," he said of a hypothetical threequel with the two of them back in the driver's seats.

The original movie saw Reeves play LAPD SWAT bomb disposal officer Jack Traven, who just happens to be stuck on a bus rigged to explode if its speedometer drops below 50 MPH. Bullock stars as Annie Porter, a passenger on the bus who takes over steering the vehicle (and the people onboard) to safety under Jack's supervision.

Speed was a thrill ride so unrelenting that audiences are still trying to catch their breath 30 years after its release. The movie grossed $350 million worldwide at theaters, received rave reviews from critics, and has managed to stand the test of time as it is still widely regarded as one of the best action movies of the 1990s.
