RCB 179/5 in 18 overs

Natarajan comes back, replaces Cummins. Starts off with a perfectly executed yorker. Nattu has kept it tight so far and will expect to finish the over in a similar fashion. But Dinesh Karthik picks the gap to perfection as he smacks one through covers for a FOUR!

RCB 167/5 in 17 overs

Unadkat continues. What an outing Unadkat is having in his 100th IPL match! He takes the pace off as Lomror tried to go big, only to find Cummins at deep midwicket. The dangerous Dinesh Karthik comes in to bat next. Short and slow, Green takes his time to pull it through the onside for a FOUR!

Mahipal Lomror c Cummins b Unadkat 7 (4b 1x4 0x6) SR: 175

RCB 157/4 in 16 overs

Cummins replaces Shahbaz. Green strikes it down the ground to collect the first boundary in over four overs. Back of the length this time and Green pulls it square for a FOUR. Short and wide, Lomror gets creative and smacks it over short third for a FOUR. 15 runs came from that over

RCB 142/4 in 15 overs

Unadkat continues. Kohli’s struggle to find connection continues as he tries to smack a short one over midwicket. Single off the following ball, the impetus provided by Patidar has watered down now as the boundaries have dried up since his departure. UNADKAT GETS HIS SECOND! Kohli gets decieved for pace and tried to smack a short ball but finds the fielder at the deep. Mahipal Lomror joins Green

Virat Kohli c Abdul Samad b Unadkat 51 (43b 4x4 1x6) SR: 118.6

RCB 136/3 in 14 overs

Shahbaz into the attack, replaces Cummins. KOHLI GETS TO HIS FIFTY WITH A SINGLE! But his strike rate has been an issue, he’s not hit a boundary in the last 22 balls he’s faced. Almost chopped on! Tad bit short from Shahbaz, Kohli tries to cut it but it takes an inside edge and misses the stumps by a mere few inches. Just four runs from the over. Strategic timeout

132/3 in 13 over

Unadkat replaces Markande. Patidar gets to his half century in just 19 balls with a single! AND HIS STAY IN THE MIDDLE COMES TO AN END! Low full toss from Unadkat but Patidar fails to get the required elevation as he hits it straight to deep sqare-leg fielder. Cam Green in at five. Kohli ends the over with a single

Rajat Patidar c Abdul Samad b Unadkat 50 (20b 2x4 5x6) SR: 250

RCB 127/2 in 12 overs

Cummins replaces Unadkat. Patidar takes a single off the first ball. Good over so far from the skipper, just five runs off five balls. Kohli gets a single off the last ball, just six runs from the ove

RCB 121/2 in 11 overs

Markande continues. Full and on the slot, Patidar lofts it through the covers and clears the fence. That’s two in two! In the hitting arc yet again and Patidar goes straight this time to get a six! MAKE IT THREE! This is outstanding stuff from Patidar, Patidar reads the wrong un to perfection and slog sweeps it for another six! OH MY WORLD THAT’S FOUR IN FOUR! Markande tosses it up wide outside off and it doesnt matter as Patidar goes bang! What an over for RCB! 27 runs from that over!

RCB 94/2 in 10 overs

Jaydev Unadkat is introduced, he replaces Shahbaz. Kolhi is finding it difficult to middle the balls, he nudges a short one to short third for a single. Short and wide outside off and Patidar lofts it over midwicket for a FOUR. Much straighter this time and it induces an outside edge off Patidar but it falls outside the reach of short third. 10 runs off Unadkat’s first over

RCB 84/2 9 overs

Markande tosses it up yet again but its too full as Patidar takes full advantage and smokes it straight for a SIX! Full and outside off, Kohli tries to go across the line but doesn’t get the desired connection and settles for a single. 11 runs came from the over. Strategic timeout

RCB 73/2 in 8 overs

Shahbaz continues from the other end. Pitched up and Patidar gives himself some room and smacks it over the bowler’s head to get a FOUR! Kohli fails to read the line and gets trapped leg before, muted appeal from the bowler and the keeper but it looked it it was going down the legside

RCB 65/2 in 7 overs

Mayank Markande replaces Shahbaz. Just outside off and Jacks clubs it down the ground for a single. RATTLED THE STUMPS THROUGH THE GATE! Jacks tries to sweep the ball but misses a slower one as Markande makes a mess of the wickets! Rajat Patidar in at four. A superb over comes to an end, just four singles and a wicket

Will Jacks b Markande 6 (9b 0x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

RCB 61/1 in 6 overs

Natarajan continues. Short and directed towards the thigh pad, Kohli flicks it to short fine to take a sketchy single. SIX! Nattu goes full and Kohli takes the aerial route to clear the fence. Jacks completes the over with a single

RCB 51/1 in 5 overs

Shahbaz Ahmed replaces Cummins. That’s five different bowlers for five overs. Jacks goes across the line and hits it to deep midwicket to collect a single and that brings up RCB’s 50. Tidy from Shahbaz, concedes just two runs

RCB 49/1 in 4 overs

T Natarajan replaces Bhuvi. And it doesn’t matter. Natarajan goes full and makes it easy for Kohli to flick it through midwicket for a FOUR! Full again, Faf plays it straight through the ground and it takes a deflection of Nattu’s boot and goes towards mid off fielder, that’s four runs saved. AND NATARAJAN PROVIDES THE MUCH NEEDED BREAKTHROUGH! It was short and wide, Faf tried to slap it over the infield but was decieved for pace as Aidem Markram takes a comfortable catch at mid off! Will Jacks comes in at number three.

Faf du Plessis c Markram b Natarajan 25 (12b 3x4 1x6) SR: 208.33

RCB 43/0 in 3 overs

Skipper Cummins replaces Abhishek. Kohli comes down the track, uses his wrist and lofts it over midwicket for a FOUR! Kohli goes over extra covers this time and that’s yet another FOUR! Now it’s Faf. He plays his trademark scoop to clear the fence over fine leg! SIX! A tad bit short this time, Faf slaps it through the legside to collect a double. 19 runs off Cummins’ over!

RCB 24/0 in 2 overs

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to bowl the second. Short and on the offside, du Plessis welcomes him with a punch through the covers and collects a FOUR! Bhuvi keeps it tight this time, Kohli is cramped for space and is forced to defend it, a dot. What a flick from Faf! He does just enough to clear the infield and that’s another FOUR! This time Faf goes through the offside but the result is the same, yet another FOUR! Huge over for RCB, 14 came off it

RCB 10/0 in 1 over

The regular opening pair of Virat Kohli and Faf fu Plessis have walked into the middle for RCB while Abhishek Sharma will start the proceedings with the ball.

First ball to the pads and Kohli just had to clip it on the onside to start the match off with a FOUR. He follows it up with a single. Faf off the mark with a single as as well. A bit short this time, Kohli rocks back and hit sit through the onside but settles for just a single. Couple of runs to finish the first over, 10 runs came off it
