Walsall vs Leicester City

James Maddison has been selected for his first Leicester City start in more than two months at Walsall but new left-back Victor Kristiansen will have to make his debut from the bench.

City playmaker Maddison made his comeback from a knee injury last week with 20 minutes as a substitute against Brighton. He now comes into the 11, and lines up in a front three with Patson Daka and Harvey Barnes.

Daka is another of the three changes made by Brendan Rodgers, who has fielded a strong line-up to face the Saddlers. The Zambian replaces Jamie Vardy, who is not even in the squad.

The final change sees Daniel Iversen play in goal, with Danny Ward left out. The Dane has kept three clean sheets in his three City appearances so far.

Otherwise, it’s the same side that drew 2-2 with Brighton. Luke Thomas keeps his place in the back four despite Kristiansen’s arrival from FC Copenhagen. The new left-back is expected to feature in the second half.

On the bench, Dennis Praet has recovered from the blow he took to his ankle against the Seagulls to earn a place in the squad. There is no Ayoze Perez though, with the Spaniard likely heading to Spain before the close of the transfer window.

City (4-3-3): Iversen, Castagne, Amartey, Faes, Thomas; Mendy, Tielemans, Dewsbury-Hall; Maddison, Daka, Barnes. Subs: Smithies, Vestergaard, Soyuncu, Brunt, Kristiansen, Braybrooke, Praet, Albrighton, Iheanacho.
