Actor Kim Soo-hyun denies dating rumours with actress Kim Sae-ron

Dating rumours involving South Korean actors Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were shot down almost as quickly as they began.

The rumours sparked after the 23-year-old actress posted a picture of the pair, with their faces pressed together, on her Instagram story on Sunday (Mar 24).

Later the same day, the 36-year-old actor’s agency Gold Medalist released a statement, denying the dating rumours.

“Due to the photo in question, unnecessary misunderstandings and groundless speculation about our actor are currently running rampant,” said the agency.

“The photo that has been spread online appears to have been taken in the past, when (Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron) were under the same agency, and we are completely unable to understand the motivation behind Kim Sae-ron’s action (of posting the photo).”

The agency added that they will be taking legal action against any “malicious slander and insulting posts that defame (Kim Soo-hyun’s) character or honour”.

The actress deleted the photo soon after she uploaded it, and has not posted any updates since then.

She was represented by Gold Medalist from 2020 to 2022 until her contract was terminated for driving under the influence in 2022.

Due to her drink-driving incident, she was fined 20 million won (S$20,070) in 2023 and has not been in any projects since. Her last show was the Netflix series Bloodhounds.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun is starring in the ongoing tvN drama Queen Of Tears. Notably, he was also in hit shows such as It’s Okay To Not Be Okay and My Love From The Star.
