‘Root cause of accident identified’: Railway minister 

Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Sunday inspected the restoration work at the accident site in Balasore. “The root cause of this accident has been identified. PM Modi inspected the site yesterday. We will try to restore the track today. All bodies have been removed. Our target is to finish the restoration work by Wednesday morning so that trains can start running on this track,” he said.

Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Geeta Singh informed that 100 out of the 160 unidentified bodies of passengers of the Odisha triple train accident will be kept in AIIMS Bhubaneshwar, reported ANI. 

Over 1,000 people engaged in restoration work

According to the railway ministry, over 1,000 people are engaged in the restoration work after the tragic accident. Over seven Poclain Machines, two Accident Relief Trains, and three to four Railway and Road Cranes have also been deployed at the site.
