Rohit took his time, settled down & showed his class: Virender Sehwag

Curtains down on another high-scoring encounter at the Wankhede. Mumbai are currently positioned fourth on the points table with 16 points but they don't have a 'Q' adjacent to their name. One final round-robin game left in the tourney, one playoff spot up for grabs. Will it be RCB or MI? If RCB win in Chinnaswamy, they go through to the playoffs as they have a better NRR. If GT win or the game gets washed out, MI will qualify. We couldn't have asked for a better finish. Switch tabs to follow RCB vs GT. See you there.

Match Highlights: MI v SRH, Tata IPL 2023, Match 69

Cameron Green | Player of the Match: It was a great partnership with Rohit. He's so experienced in IPL. Having his leadership at the other end really helped. The whole MI set-up has been awesome, getting really well looked after. The intent at the top, it helps when you have guys like Ishan and Rohit in front of you and SKY after you. We've got Polly (Pollard) as well to help me. That's a pretty good set-up. When we had about 20 to get, I said SKY to finish it. Then we had a couple of runs left, we just trickled over the line.

Rohit Sharma: We came with that mindset, we wanted to win and not worry about what happens elsewhere. What you can control, you can control and then hope for the best. I haven't spoken to anyone. If we don't go through, we've got ourselves to blame for it. If we go through, I'll give all the credit to the boys. That's how it works. Last year, we did a big favour to RCB, I hope we get the result what we are looking for. We did a lot of things right as we went along. We didn't start well and then won three on the trot. The crucial moments in the game that we lost - there were a lot of moments like that. The game against Punjab here where we needed around 34 runs off 18 balls, we could have probably played well. And the last game against LSG, we had the game in our hands after the first half of the innings. We can't look too much into that. Sometimes it just doesn't come along.

The MI players, coaches, support staff and the owners are doing a lap around the ground to thank the Wankhede crowd! They won five out of their seven matches at home this season.

Suryakumar Yadav: It was the hardest single I have ever taken. He deserved the 100. We don’t have anything to see as far as NRR was concerned. So wanted to see a special 100. We felt if we could curtail them to 200 or 210, we felt it was gettable. When I was sitting in the room, I thought what happened suddenly. But then focused on what has worked for me for the last few months. Very happy the season has gone. It would have been good had we qualified by now.

Aiden Makram: It was a decent effort with the bat today. You need a lot more than 200 against MI. Boys played well, unfortunately ended up on the wrong side. It's been a great challenge this year (leading the team), great group of guys, we are on the younger side, great bunch to be around. We have learnt a lot as a team. Great (about Vivrant and Mayank putting on a hundred partnership). It was an opportunity for the guys and they grabbed it with both hands. Someone like Klassy (Klaasen) and Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar), did consistently well throughout the season.

Cricbuzz Live Hindi: Match 69: Mumbai v Hyderabad, Post-match show

19:21 Local Time, 13:51 GMT, 19:21 IST: The five-time champions have done what was in their control. Mumbai Indians move to the fourth spot and stay alive! Rajasthan Royals are knocked out and it's wooden spoon for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Clinical chase from the hosts. Chasing 201, they lost the dangerous Kishan in the 3rd over and Rohit looked scratchy. But Green, promoted to No. 3, came out all guns blazing. He raced away to 30 off 10 which allowed MI to score 60 off the powerplay. Captain Rohit too found his touch after the powerplay and it was carnage from both ends. While Green notched up a 20-ball fifty, Rohit struck three fours in a row off Umran to bring up his half-century. Mayank Dagar managed to break the 128-run stand by removing Rohit, thanks to a Nitish screamer but that hardly affected Mumbai's scoring rate. SKY wasted no time to get going and then he gave the strike to Green who was able to hit the winning runs and bring up his century in the process. Now, MI would be praying for a GT win over RCB.

Bhuvneshwar to Green, 1 run, 117.2kph, slower delivery, Green walks forward and across to work it to the right of mid-on. Maiden T20 century for Cameron Green - the second-most expensive player in IPL history! And, Mumbai win by 8 wickets!

Final ball of the over! The field comes in...

17.5 Bhuvneshwar to Green, no run, 120.7kph, slower delivery, Green tentatively pushes at it and is beaten on the outside edge. The keeper fails to gather it and the batsmen don't go for the byes

17.4 Bhuvneshwar to Suryakumar Yadav, 1 run, a shuffling Suryakumar Yadav turns this length ball to mid-wicket and the batters scamper across for a quick single. The throw comes to the keeper's end and hits Green's bat. Fortunately for Green, the ball doesn't run away to the fence

Smiles in the MI camp as Green moves to 99. MI need two to win...

17.3 Bhuvneshwar to Green, 1 run, 123.9kph, slower delivery, tapped towards cover with soft hands for a quick single

Bhuvneshwar to Green, FOUR, fifty partnership! Full delivery, Green exposes all his sticks by backing away, then gets low and reaches out to batter it through extra cover. Green moves to 98

The ball slips out of Bhuvneshwar's hand as he tries to bowl the knuckle ball. Green had danced down the track but that's a dead ball

17.1 Bhuvneshwar to Suryakumar Yadav, 1 run, pitched up delivery, driven wristily along the ground to long-on

Bhuvneshwar Kumar [3.0-0-18-1] is back into the attack

Equation: 8 runs | 18 balls. Green is one six away from a hundred here!

16.6 Markram to Suryakumar Yadav, 1 run, 96.4kph, very full delivery, driven hard to the left of long-off. Green wants the second but gets sent back

Aiden Markram, right-arm off break, comes into the attack
