Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has issued his first order to the government while in the Enforcement Directorate's custody, AAP sources have said.

Arvind Kejriwal, who was recently arrested in the Delhi liquor policy case, has issued his first order to the government while being locked up in Enforcement Directorate custody, AAP sources have said.

The order is related to the Water Ministry and the directive was sent via note, party sources added. Delhi Minister Atishi addressed a press conference at 10 am today and gave details about the order issued by Arvind Kejriwal.

"From ED custody, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed concerns over water and sewer issues in some areas of the city. He has directed to deploy enough water tankers in areas facing scarcity," Atishi said while reading out the order sent by him.

"Even in such a situation, he is not thinking about himself, but the people of Delhi and their problems. The arrest of Arvind Kejriwal will not halt the work of the people of Delhi," she added.

People shouldn’t suffer. Summers are also approaching. If needed, seek help from the Lieutenant Governor as well, he will not refuse to help, the letter also read.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 under the anti-money laundering law after searches at his official residence in the Civil Lines area of the national capital.

He was on Friday remanded to the Enforcement Directorate's custody till March 28 for "detailed and sustained interrogation" regarding his role in the alleged irregularities in the alleged liquor scam.

Even after his arrest, Arvind Kejriwal has not tendered his resignation from the post of Chief Minister and his party leaders have assured that he would continue to be the Delhi Chief Minister and "run the government from jail if needed".

"We have said earlier that if needed, Kejriwal will run the government from jail. He can run the government as no rule can prevent him from doing that. He has not been convicted, and so he will remain as the Delhi Chief Minister," Atishi had said.
