Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has told Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop to "steer clear" of him after he punctured striker Paul Mullin's lung with a reckless challenge overnight.
The pre-season friendly in San Diego was halted for several minutes after Bishop rushed off his line and clattered into Mullin in a horrific collision, which saw the Wrexham star administered oxygen on the pitch before being helped off by medical staff and taken to hospital.
Parkinson confirmed after the game that the striker, who scored 38 goals in 46 league appearances for the Red Dragons last season, had punctured a lung in the gruesome clash.

And despite watching his side beat the Premier League outfit 3-1, the Wrexham boss was left absolutely fuming with Bishop - who was fortunate to escape with only a yellow card - with the start of the League Two season just days away.
Admitting he was baffled that the 23-year-old keeper had not been sent off, Parkinson said: "It’s a clumsy challenge from the goalkeeper, I’m disappointed with that. It should have been a straight red. If it’s not denying a goalscoring opportunity, it’s still a dangerous challenge.
"So if you add the two scenarios together he should have been off the pitch. It’s a dangerous challenge and obviously, Paul Mullin is our talisman."
Not holding back, he went on: "I’m fuming about it, I’ve got to be honest with you. It was a clumsy, reckless, challenge in a pre-season game and I’m not happy with it.
"I haven’t seen the goalie and he’s probably best steering clear of us for the time being because we’re not very happy."
Following the game, Bishop took to social media to issue an apology to Mullin as he described the incident as a "genuine accident".
"Just wanted to share my sincerest apologies to @PMullin7," he wrote on Twitter. "A complete misjudgement and a genuine accident with 0 malicious intent at all! Wishing you the speediest recovery and hope to see you back scoring goals as soon as possible!"
The incident overshadowed a famous win for Wrexham as they beat a young United side in front of 34,000 fans, with headed goals from Elliot Lee, Aaron Hayden and Sam Dalby securing the victory after the Red Devils' captain Dan Gore was shown a straight red card early in the second half.
