Manchester United have not been afraid to splash the cash this summer.
In what is Erik ten Hag ’s third season in charge, the Dutchman has certainly been given backing by new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The Red Devils made Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee their first signing of the summer.
He was followed by young defender Leny Yoro, who completed a big-money move from French club Lille. United’s spending does not look likely to end there.
Another centre-back and a midfielder is on their shopping list. Take a look at all of the latest transfer news and rumours coming out of Old Trafford over the past 24 hours:
Yoro deal triggers angerReal Madrid are reportedly considering severing their ties with super agent Jorge Mendes following their failure to sign Leny Yoro. The Frenchman was linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of agreeing to join Man United.
Yoro is represented by Mendes’ Gestifute agency. As per SPORT, Real Madrid believe the Portuguese should claim a significant part of the blame for Yoro not becoming their player.
They believe that the finances of the deal to take him to Old Trafford worked more in Mendes’ favour. Real Madrid are also frustrated surrounding the future of goalkeeper Andriy Lunin - who has been linked with a move away over recent weeks.
Benfica chief confirms bidBenfica president Rui Costa has announced that his side have received a bid for Man United target Joao Neves. Speaking to A Bola, he said: "I never said that Joao Neves would only leave for his release clause and therefore, those claims are false.
“What I can say in relation to Joao Neves is that there is an offer on the table. That has been in the news in the last days but I’m not going to say where this proposal stands.
“There is a proposal on the table which is being evaluated and is being discussed. But at this moment, Joao Neves remains a Benfica player. It’s not that I want to hide the ins and outs because I understand that Benfica fans want to know whether Joao will be leaving or not.
“But at this moment, there are ongoing negotiations, so please allow me to be reserved about this subject so we can take care of what will be best outcome for Benfica.”

Amrabat deadline passesAnother midfielder that the Red Devils could choose to sign this summer is former loanee Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan spent last season at Old Trafford on loan from Italian side Fiorentina.
Man United had the option to make the move permanent for €20m (£16.8m). Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that they only had until last week to activate that option.
Amrabat could still return to the club - but not for the pre-agreed fee. They will now have to engage in talks with Fiorentina once again if they wish to bring him back, with the midfielder potentially being available for even less.
